ABOUT

Maeve Iredale (formerly known as Marley Daemon) is a singer, multi-instrumentalist, composer and song leader from Salt Spring Island, BC. Jazz and classically trained, she brings both high artistry and a courageous intimacy to her music. With strikingly honest lyrics and musical flavours ranging from indie-soul to contemporary art-folk, Maeve’s music calls us home to ourselves, drawing us into connection with the natural world and the joy and grief of being alive.

A lifelong musician, Maeve began composing at age eight and later earned a Jazz Studies Diploma from the Victoria Conservatory of Music in piano and voice, where she received the Katarina Composition Scholarship for best emerging composer. After studying Indian classical music in Varanasi and recording her debut solo album Heart to Sky with producer Adrian Dolan by the age of 21, Maeve went on to tour extensively across Canada, the UK and Bali as a solo artist and with bands Dirty Grace, The Honey Tongues, and IRTH, performing at festivals including Victoria Jazz Festival, Vancouver Island Music Fest, Wild Heart Festival (UK) and Bali Spirit Festival (Indonesia).

Her discography includes solo albums Heart To Sky (2010) and Abandon (2015) as well as collaborative releases with Dirty Grace, The Honey Tongues and IRTH – an indie-pop duo with her husband and musical partner Jesse Thom (Caraluna, Some Bunny Loves You).

Beyond her life as a songwriter and performer, Maeve is a choir director (Salt Spring Village Choir), vocal coach, dancer, improviser, and meditation instructor. Informed by studies in sacred clowning, somatic meditation, and the vocal improvisation traditions of Rhiannon and Bobby McFerrin, she brings warmth, humour, and deep listening to every performance—inviting audiences into the shared joy of connection through song.
